LTP Secures Five SFC Licenses to Provide Crypto Services in Hong Kong
LTP, a digital asset brokerage for institutional investors, has obtained five operational licenses from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) through its subsidiary, LiquidityTech Limited (LTP HK). The licenses include Type 1, 2, 4, 5, and 9, enabling LTP HK to:
- Offer securities services
- Serve as an advisor
- Provide futures contracts
- Offer asset management services to institutional clients
LTP claims to be the first digital asset-focused brokerage firm in Hong Kong to secure these licenses, although FalconX received a similar license earlier. The acquisition of these licenses emphasizes LTP's commitment to regulatory compliance and enhances its ability to serve institutional customers.
Hong Kong's licensing aligns with its goal to become a leading hub for digital asset innovation in the Asia-Pacific region. The SFC introduced a regulatory framework in June 2023, allowing crypto service providers to cater to retail customers under strict regulations. Since then, several companies have received approvals, positioning Hong Kong as a key player in Asia’s crypto landscape.
