Analyst expects PEPE to lead meme coin return on Ethereum
Analyst says PEPE could lead a “return to quality” on Ethereum, echoing SHIB’s second run
Crypto analyst Rexha argues that PEPE may reprise Shiba Inu’s path, as meme coin flow shifts back to Ethereum. The call frames a “second run” for PEPE and warns of a later “Final Extraction” on other chains according to the analyst.
In the 2021–2022 cycle, Dogecoin rallied about 36,000%, while SHIB ran over 1,000,000% per NewsBTC. Traders then chased “cheaper” chains, which the analyst says ended in widespread scams, highlighting SAFEMOON on BNB Chain. Attention later rotated back to DOGE and SHIB as a perceived safer bet per Bitcoinist.
Rexha claims this cycle started differently. PEPE led on Ethereum, not DOGE or SHIB per NewsBTC.
The analyst links the rush to Solana with traders seeking a “cheap and fast” chain. Projects like PumpFun pulled liquidity and the Solana trenches “mostly died out,” in their view.
Rexha expects a pivot back to PEPE on Ethereum. They call it a “Return to Quality,” and compare a potential PEPE “second run” to SHIB’s second act per NewsBTC.
They also warn of a trap after PEPE’s move. A new wave on other chains, such as a PumpFun “V2,” could act as a “Final Extraction,” drawing in late liquidity per the analysis.
