Analyst sees Bitcoin breaking $75K, targeting $80K–$85K this month with strong volume
Bitcoin eyes $80k–$85k this month if $75k breaks with volume, says analyst Michaël van de Poppe. Ether led on the day, rising ~8% vs. Bitcoin’s ~5%, hinting at stronger altcoin beta.
Van de Poppe, founder of MN Fund, sees a “clear path” to $80k–$85k before April ends. He posted the call on X and tied it to a recovering global risk backdrop (analyst post, thread). At the time, Bitcoin traded near $74,500, up over 5% in 24h, with volume surging.
“#Bitcoin aims to attack the highs and is consolidating around $75K. If it blasts through $75K with volume, we’ll be in for $80–85K this month,” he wrote (post on X).
Key levels
- Breakout level: $75,000 with strong volume (source)
- Target zone: $80,000–$85,000 in April (source)
- Support: hold above $72,000 keeps the bull case; he assigns >70% odds of trading above $80,000 if that level holds (source)
The macro backdrop is stabilizing after weeks of pressure tied to Middle East tensions, which he cites as a tailwind (geopolitics live coverage, analyst note).
Altcoins could amplify the move. He expects them to outpace Bitcoin by 2–3x if the uptrend continues; if BTC adds 10%, alts could gain 20%–30% or more (source). On the day, Ether rose ~8% vs. Bitcoin’s ~5%.
