Analyst says Bitcoin needs years to set new all-time high

Darkfost says Bitcoin is early in a bear phase. Only 159 days have passed since the Oct 6, 2025 ATH, so a new record high is likely not near.

He marks the cycle top on October 6, 2025, near $126k. That’s when the current correction started, per his X post.

History points to long waits between peaks. Darkfost cites:
- 1,180 days from the 2017 ATH to the next ATH source
- 1,093 days into the 2021 cycle source
- 849 days into the 2025 cycle source

He notes the spacing is shrinking over time. But several years between ATHs have been common source.

On halvings, he says new ATHs don’t depend on them. ETFs flipped the usual script in 2024: BTC cleared the 2021 $69,000 high in March 2024, before the April 2024 halving, and ATHs tend to arrive after the bear ends anyway source.

At press time, BTC trades at $71,429, up 6.91% in a week.
