Ethereum Foundation stakes 45,000 ETH, nears 70,000 target

On April 3, the Ethereum Foundation staked 45,000 ETH. Total locked reached about 69,500, roughly 500 short of its 70,000 goal, per Arkham Intelligence.

The batch moved from the treasury to the Beacon Deposit Contract. Value exceeded $92.2 million, per Arkham Intelligence.

• Deposits were a series of 2,047 ETH each on Friday, per Arkham Intelligence.
• The Foundation began staking in February after a treasury policy shift last June.
• It has now locked over $143 million in ETH in the Beacon Deposit Contract, per Arkham Intelligence.
• Earlier actions included 2,016 ETH in February and 22,517 ETH in March.
• The organization also completed a 5,000 ETH OTC sale, per Bitcoinist.

“We are increasingly moving into staking and DeFi to enhance financial sustainability,” the Foundation wrote in its treasury policy.

ETH trades just above $2,000. 24h change is flat. Seven-day move is about +2%. The price is 60% below the $4,946 ATH from August 2025.
