Ethereum's Holesky testnet regained finality after two weeks, following the Pectra upgrade activation on February 24, 2025. The disruption stemmed from a configuration bug rather than the upgrade itself. Finality was achieved on March 10, with over two-thirds of validators participating.

Developers are stabilizing nodes and restoring operations for the upcoming mainnet upgrade.
Pectra was also deployed on Sepolia, which faced issues due to an attack exploiting a zero-token transfer edge case.

The Pectra upgrade will enhance Ethereum with features like account abstraction, gas payments in tokens, and increased token limits.

Market Impact

Ethereum's price has dropped 10% in the last 24 hours, falling below $2,000, resulting in year-to-date losses exceeding 41%. Analyst Ali Martinez indicated that failing to maintain support at $2,060 could lead to a drop to around $1,440.

Whales have been selling ETH recently, but there is potential for recovery with the Pectra upgrade.
