Ethereum Price Expected to Surge in Q1 2025 Based on Historical Data
Historical data indicates potential significant gains for Ethereum in the first quarter of 2025. Crypto analyst Kaduna predicts that Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, may initiate the altcoin season at the beginning of the new year.
Historical Performance Shows What To Expect From Ethereum Price
CryptoRank data reveals that Ethereum may experience positive monthly gains throughout Q1 2025. This expectation is based on historical trends from the 2017 and 2021 bull runs, which followed Bitcoin Halving events. The next Halving occurred this year, suggesting a similar trajectory for 2025.
In 2017, Ethereum recorded gains of 34%, 47%, and 215% in January, February, and March, respectively. In 2021, gains were 78%, 7%, and 35% for the same months. Based on these patterns, ETH could replicate substantial gains in early 2025.
Kaduna advised against bearish sentiments regarding Ethereum, asserting that ETH is likely to lead the altcoin season, mirroring its performances from previous years.
Despite underperforming relative to major cryptocurrencies this year, with a year-to-date gain of approximately 47%, Ethereum has struggled to maintain the $4,000 level and is far from its all-time high of $4,800 achieved in 2021. However, if past trends continue, ETH could reach a new ATH in 2025.
ETH’s Time Will Come
Analyst Ted expressed optimism about Ethereum's future, highlighting that the first quarter of 2025 is anticipated to be significant for ETH. He noted an inverse relationship between ETH and BTC dominance during bull runs, with BTC's dominance expected to decline, which could benefit ETH.
Ted predicted Ethereum could reach $10,000 in 2025. Analyst Trader Tardigrade also provided a positive forecast, indicating that ETH has completed a contracting triangle, suggesting a potential rebound towards $4,000.
Currently, Ethereum trades at approximately $3,380, reflecting a decline over the last 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap data.
