Ethereum to Shut Down Holesky Test Network by September 30

The Ethereum Foundation is discontinuing the Holesky test network due to challenges with the upcoming Pectra upgrade. Key points include:

• The newly launched Hoodi network will replace Holesky for testing purposes.
• Holesky faced issues after a faulty test in February, resulting in "inactivity leaks" that affected its validator system.
• Validators exiting from Holesky would take about one year to be fully removed, hindering effective testing.
• Hoodi aims to test the Pectra upgrade on March 26, with deployment to the mainnet planned 30 days later if successful.

Holesky was designed for Ethereum's validator ecosystem, supporting up to 1.4 million validators, more than other testnets.
