Strategy moves 3,568 BTC as altcoin rotation flags local top
Two caution signals appeared: a 3,568 BTC outflow from Strategy-labeled wallets over nine hours and a sharp rotation into altcoins per Glassnode. BTC trades near $84,285, up 0.94%. Price holds above last week’s reclaimed level, but momentum has slowed.
Strategy BTC Transfers: Sale or Custody Rotation
Strategy (Prev. MicroStrategy) Arkham
Verified flow: 3,568 BTC, about $297 million at current prices, left Strategy-attributed addresses within nine hours, per Lookonchain. Intent is unconfirmed. Explanations include custody rotation, wallet rearchitecture, or internal reorganization, which do not require selling. There is prior selling: 6,916 BTC during summer to fund preferred dividends and reduce debt at sub-$65,000 prices. Strategy recently reported buying 1,665 BTC at an average $85,681. On-chain movement does not prove a sale.
Altcoin Spot Volume and Local Top Risk
Altcoins Share Glassnode
Glassnode: total crypto spot volume is near four times Bitcoin’s, the highest since September 2025. Interpretation: traders shifting into higher-risk assets after BTC strength has historically aligned with local Bitcoin tops. Historical instances on the chart in early and mid-2025 coincided with local highs. Implication: increased risk of buying BTC here compared to $75,000 two weeks earlier. This signal does not imply a crash.
Trend Levels and Structure
BTCUSDT Chart 1D TradingView
Structure remains constructive:
- Key support to hold: $82,303. Daily closes above maintain the breakout.
- Near-term supply: $88,000 to $90,000. A break above weakens the local-top argument.
- Upside objective: $98,330 as the final barrier before $100,000.
Downside backstop: $77,594 at the 50-day EMA and $74,364 at the 200-day EMA. Both EMAs are rising and 50-day is above 200-day. The balance: positive trend and corporate accumulation versus altcoin rotation and a $297 million transfer of unclear intent. Signal confirmation: holding $82,303 suggests noise; losing it suggests early warning.
