Alistair Milne Shares Bitcoin Predictions for 2025

Alistair Milne, co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of the Altana Digital Currency Fund, shared his Bitcoin predictions for 2025 on X. With experience at ADCF since 2014, Milne's insights are noteworthy in the investment sector.

Bitcoin Predictions For 2025

Milne predicts that the United States will not formally announce Bitcoin purchases under President-elect Trump but will sign an order to prevent the sale of seized Bitcoin, creating a de facto reserve. This may lead to global fear of missing out (FOMO). He believes the US will maintain its 198,109 BTC as a national stockpile, contrary to Senator Cynthia Lummis’ proposal for the government to acquire 1 million BTC over five years.

Internationally, Milne anticipates that smaller nations, alongside Bhutan and El Salvador, will begin acquiring or mining Bitcoin before the US. He expects Middle Eastern countries to disclose their holdings as well.

Corporate interest in Bitcoin is likely to grow, with Milne forecasting at least one additional S&P 500 company to announce a Bitcoin acquisition in 2025.

Price forecasts are optimistic, with Milne estimating Bitcoin could reach $200-250k without US government purchases. If the government does buy, he suggests prices could approach $500k due to increased competition among nation-states for Bitcoin.

Milne predicts Bitcoin will peak in the latter half of 2025, with October being a significant month. He expects a milder bear market compared to previous cycles, driven by gradual accumulation from nation-states and corporations.

On security and market stability, Milne notes that Bitfinex will return most of its hacked Bitcoin, causing a temporary market dip. However, he believes the majority will be converted to LEO over time rather than sold off.

The recovery of major exchanges post-collapse will also impact Bitcoin's trajectory. Milne states that FTX will start distributing USD to creditors, with at least 50% reinvested into Bitcoin, enhancing market liquidity.

Institutional investors like MicroStrategy are expected to achieve a Bitcoin yield of approximately 30% in 2025. Additionally, Milne mentions Trump's potential actions regarding Ross Ulbricht, predicting that Ulbricht will be freed as promised during Trump's campaign.

At press time, BTC traded at $93,070.
