Binance hack halts withdrawals, nearly $6B stolen, $3B frozen

[ A rough recap of what happened overnight ]

Things looked good before bed, but prices seem off when you wake up… From here on, don’t panic and listen carefully.

1/ Overnight, Intel fell -22% after its earnings release.

2/ Binance was hacked. Withdrawals are currently disabled.

3/ It was a massive hack. Bybit’s hack, the largest in history until now, was under 1.5B, but the Binance hack is currently estimated at nearly 6B…

4/ Fortunately, close to 3B of the hacked assets have been frozen.

5/ But various alts keep getting dumped, and assets like BTC and ETH can’t be frozen in the first place…

6/ CZ has tweeted that the hack is real and that they can fully cover the stolen funds.

7/ The main question is, was there anything to eat? Even if you stayed up, there was almost nothing you could do. Everyone who pulled an all-nighter just sucked their fingers till their thumbs got puffy.
