Zcash hits YTD high as Multicoin reveals significant ZEC position
Multicoin buys ZEC; price prints new YTD high
Zcash surged to a new YTD high near $590 after a six-day run. Multicoin’s Tushar Jain said the firm built a “significant” ZEC position since February.
Jain framed it as a privacy and seizure-resistance bet. He disclosed the stake and thesis in an X thread and tied it to policy risk. “Multicoin has built a significant position in $ZEC since February,” he wrote, citing California wealth seizure proposals as a warning sign in his thread.
He separated censorship resistance from privacy. “Bitcoin is censorship-resistant…but that doesn’t stop the state from seizing known holdings through wealth taxes,” Jain wrote in the same thread.
Technicals backed the move. ZEC reclaimed a major resistance and showed “Strong continuation,” per trader Cheds on X, after breaking above a prior supply zone that capped rallies per NewsBTC.

Context matters. ZEC has historically acted as a high-beta name during privacy-coin rotations, amplifying moves when narrative momentum returns per prior coverage.
Multicoin’s bottom line was direct. “We believe truly private, censorship and seizure resistant assets have clear product-market fit,” Jain wrote, calling ZEC “the cleanest way to express this thesis in public markets” as cited.
At press time, ZEC traded at $581 on market trackers.
