Kraken to launch CFTC-regulated perpetual futures for US traders
**Kraken to Launch CFTC-Regulated Perpetual Futures in the US**
Kraken plans to roll out CFTC-approved perpetual futures for eligible US traders within 30 days.
The contracts will list on **Bitnomial**, a CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Market owned by Kraken’s parent Payward. This gives Kraken a domestic venue for a product that was previously dominated by offshore exchanges.
Perpetual futures let traders maintain positions without expiry. Funding rates every eight hours keep prices aligned with the spot market. Globally, these contracts saw over $60 trillion in volume in 2025.
The new products will be cleared through **NinjaTrader Clearing** (doing business as Kraken Derivatives US), a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant. They will sit alongside spot, margin, and CME-listed futures in Kraken Pro, creating one interface for US clients.
Initial assets include:
- BTC
- ETH
- SOL
- XRP
- ADA
- LINK
- DOGE
- LTC
- AVAX
Kraken has not yet announced the exact start date or full eligibility criteria. Access may initially be limited, but the move signals that regulated US crypto derivatives are aligning with global market structures.
