**Kraken to Launch CFTC-Regulated Perpetual Futures in US**

Kraken will allow eligible US clients to trade CFTC-regulated perpetual futures within the next 30 days via Bitnomial, a recently acquired Designated Contract Market.

Contracts will initially cover BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, LINK, DOGE, LTC, and AVAX.

Perpetuals are central to global crypto trading yet have been largely offshore. This move embeds their mechanics — continuous pricing, no expiry, recurring funding — inside a US-regulated venue.

Products will integrate with Kraken Pro, alongside spot margin and CME-listed futures, allowing traders to manage collateral and positions from a single wallet.

Kraken’s derivatives head John Palmer says US traders have been waiting for a regulated way to access perpetual futures, the key liquidity layer in global crypto markets.

Impact could shift some volume from offshore to US venues, especially for institutional desks seeking regulatory clarity. Wide asset coverage at launch signals Kraken’s aim to build a broad derivatives hub, not just a Bitcoin market.

Next steps:

  • Watch for on-time launch within 30 days.
  • Check eligibility scope for US traders.
  • Track liquidity development versus offshore markets.
